Virginia Beach Vacation Rentals
Virginia Beach, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Chesapeake Bay. Howard Hanna William E Wood vacation homes and condos offer you the opportunity to enjoy our wide open beaches, award winning restaurants, and boutique shopping. With locations at the North End and at the South End Resort Area, families can enjoy a beach get away that fits any style or budget. Many of our homes and condos are direct oceanfront, but all have easy access to the sun and sand that are the highlight of a Virginia Beach vacation.
The North End, known for its residential charm, is a haven for dolphins, especially in the late summer months. Take out the paddleboard or kayak and join them for an alternate view of the oceanfront. Wide sand beaches and laid back atmosphere are the perfect spot to park your chair and a cooler for the day. Take a bike or jog along Oceanfront Avenue and see some of the historic cottages dating back almost a century. Some of the locals will most certainly have a story to tell.
At the South End, take advantage of the free concerts and performances along the Boardwalk. Lined with restaurants serving some of the best seafood anywhere, Atlantic Avenue boasts a wide array of local shops offering unique gifts. Rent a bike and cruise from 40th Street all the way to Rudee Inlet. Take a stop at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier or the Old Coast Guard Station on the way.
Need a day off from the sun? Head to the Adventure Park at the Virginia Beach Aquarium where you can climb and zip line through the tree tops. Take a hike through First Landing State Park, accessible from the North End as well as Shore Drive, where you will see nature’s undisturbed beauty. See the First Landing Cross, where the Jamestown settlers first landed in America. Climb the Cape Henry Lighthouse and see where the Chesapeake Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean.
We’re always celebrating during summer in Virginia Beach. Memorial Day weekend kicks off the Patriotic Festival, celebrating our nation’s military with free concerts. For our nation’s birthday on July 4th the city delights the oceanfront with a fireworks display beyond compare. In August, we have the East Coast Surfing Championship, one of the longest running surfing competitions in the United States. Rounding out the summer is the American Music Festival over Labor Day weekend.
